This prestigious, enchanting little corner is part of the history of the Albergo al Sole. It dates back to the 16th century and it was discovered during the restoration of the hotel in 1992. The arched ceiling of the grotto is completely covered with a fresco, which prominently features a man holding a wineskin and raising his hand in celebration. The Grotto was named after Bacchus in honour of the fresco and it is now an exclusive dining spot for our lucky guests.
With lighting provided by candles alone, the Grotto has a unique, romantic atmosphere.
It is a special location for a special event and it can be exclusively reserved for candlelight dinners for two people or for tasting dinners for up to eight people.
In addition, we hold “private tasting sessions” with a personal sommelier in the Grotto. They take participants on a sensory journey through the colours, fragrances and flavours of wine, from local classics to the Italian greats.
Offer subject to availability. Min. two people.
